Today I am wearing a dress I made. A new yellow dress. I finished making it last night so of course I am wearing it today. It is in no way winter appropriate...its bright and yellow with bright flowers, sleevless and short. Its a perfect spring dress. But layered with tights and a cardi, it brings a bit of colour to this grey weather. I made life hard for myself again, doing a button up front so I can breast feed in it, otherwise it would sit doing nothing. But I am happy I did. I used opshopped yellow fabric and the white fabric is from a 60's ankle length dress that was given to me, but I was never going to wear it. I put elastic and a collar on, inspired by some dresses i've recently been given by my lovely sister. She went to thailand, stocked up on some gems, and gave some to me. How lovely! This dress is inspired by those. I think she is going to sell some soon, and blog about them so I will let you know when she does. Anyway.... heres my new dress. It's not perfect but I love it. Sorry for bad photos...
Have you been making anything lately you didn't think you could? Making my own clothes is such alot of fun and I get so surprised when it actually looks like something!
Also, this sunday the 9th june is the last day to sign up for my

ReplyDeleteI love that fabric and the dress looks good on you. I wish I could sew my own dress.
I recently made a quilt which was a first for me. I used some vintage sheets that I had on my stash.
