The Kitchen Linen Skirt

Hooray..I have finally set up my sewing space in my new home and I have been busy! Sadly, I think my sewing machine needs a service, Im hoping it isnt on the way out, cos I love it so much, but I was able to make this skirt and some other bits and pieces I will share with you soon. I will also show you my new sewing space in another post later this week.

I have titled this skirt The Kitchen Linen Skirt because it was a pretty tablecloth I found at an opshop. I had seen it, and left it behind thinking I don't need more tablecloths, but in the car driving home all I could think of was the possibility of turning it into a skirt. I had the method and the finished product in my head so clearly, I ended up turning around and getting it to see if I could actually do what seemed so easy in my head! And I have..hooray! The good thing about choosing a tablecloth is its already got neat edges and in this case, ric rac around the bottom which is cute! Here is my Kichen Linen Skirt, forgive me for the bad photos!

Im quite excited by this and so happy it worked! It's such a good feeling when something you want to make, ends up looking the way you hoped! I feel quite confident making these (I say this now, it could change), that I would gladly make some as gifts!

Made anything recently?

Also, I have a GIVEAWAY happening to celebrate my one year of blogging, so if your a friend, family, or follower, do enter! If your not on facebook or blogger, thats ok, just leave a comment on that blog post!

See you all soon,
