My Wedding Album
Today is my 3rd wedding anniversary. Tomorrow is our 8th year of being together. I am the happiest girl and love my hubby to bits and pieces. Here are some photos from our special day. Our wedding was exactly what we wanted. It was DIY, second hand, opshopped, borrowed, handmade and perfect for us. My dress and hubbys suit both second hand finds, the flowers we bought from dandenong market and arranged ourselves, the amazing cake made by my sis in law, the food, a collection of our favourite dishes, made by family and friends, the plates opshopped, the furniture borrowed, the house my mums! Hope you can share in the happiness with these photos..

Just Lovely!
Everything is lovely today. Although still warm, the breeze is perfect and I don't feel so gross. I've been to my wednesday craft group which is always lovely and people's crafts amaze me, I had lovely left over lamb shanks for lunch that I cooked in our slow cooker for the first time! I've been to the opshops..haven't done this in a while, and found some amazing things for a lovely $13. I also recieved a picture of a painting by my wonderful friend Freya. She painted a pic of Percy. Here are my finds and my Percy in watercolour...
A flask and a spice rack
Lovely fabric..thinking a skirt for this
Pretty hangers someone has lovingly covered
Un used pretty facewashers
Craft supplies
Pot rest to add to the 'pot rest into mat' collection
and a lovely craft bag
And this is a watercolour painting of my Percy by a very lovely, talented friend. I think it's amazing.
Freya and myself are currently in talks, planning a little giveaway for my 1 year blog anniversary in april. She is currently handpainting a collection of greeting cards that I will give away..so watch this space!
Speaking of anniversary's, tomorrow is my 3rd wedding anniversary and friday our 8th year of being together. It's all just lovely and we will celebrate with a lovely dinner out and a movie. Tomorrow I am going to share some of my wedding album with you as a celebration.
See you then,
Taz xx

Mini Pompom Brooches
It's been really hot in melbourne. The heat means I feel very lazy and tired. I don't really like sitting around doing nothing but with the house having only one fan rotating, it's really hard to do anything. To keep my brain busy, and distract me from the heat, Ive been making these mini pompom brooches. They are really quick to make and lots of fun deciding which colours to put together. For these three I went with rainbow, pastel and fluffy. Im thinking making some season ones with the right colours and who knows what else! These are perfect attatched to a bag or a thick wintery jacket for some colour! Infact, you could probably put them anywhere for some pompom cuteness!
I know I look a bit crazy, handling coats and wool with the hot days we've had but it's keeping me sane and positive and reminding me that winter is on its way..yippee!!!
Have you been keeping busy with the cold or hot weather you've been having?

Rhubarb, Coconut and Almond Cake
I've been baking! I feel like i've not shared a recipe in a while. Maybe I have but I can't remember. On my weekend just past, I made this cake for our afternoon tea's this week. Its delicious and is still dense (i'm eating some now) and is yum with a cup of tea and crafting!
You will need:
2 1/2 cups spelt flour or regular flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp bi carb soda
1/2 cup desiccated coconut
1/2 cup chopped almonds
1 ripe banana, mashed
1 cup stewed and sweetend rhubarb
60 gm coconut oil or butter
1/2 cup honey
225ml milk
2 eggs, lightly beaten
For the topping you have two choices..A simple cream cheese icing or coconut sugar/brown sugar generously sprinked ontop. We chose the sugar.
First, preheat your oven to 170C and line a loaf tin with baking paper.
Into a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, bicarb soda, almonds and coconut. Add the banana and rhubarb.
Gently heat the coconut oil and honey until warmed then pour into a bowl with the milk and eggs, mixing well. Pour this over the dry ingredients and combine well. Pour into the tin. If doing a sugary topping, sprinkle generous amounts of sugar on cake before baking and bake for about 45- 60 min or until skewer comes out clean.
Let cool before serving or icing. It's lovely served with berries and a cup of tea.
If you make this, I hope you enjoy it as much as we are!

A picture of my weekend...
I had a lovely weekend, did you? It was spent crafting and baking. I saw friends and ate good food. I recently borrowed a craft book from the local library, and inside amongst some seriously good/pretty/cute ideas, was a fabric picture. I loved the idea and wanted to make one for myself. Here is what I made. It was so much fun. I used some of my most favourite fabrics and just enjoyed the colourfullness of it all.
The picture in 'Sew Darn Cute'.
Found one way to display my crochet flowers
Used some of my favourite fabrics
An embroided doily sun
I'm not exactly sure how to display it yet. Im either thinking framing like this..
Or making two more the same but not the same with the blue and pink matching fabric. Then hanging all 3 up together.
What do you think???
Here are also my what I got up to on the weekend instagram photos..
Making homemade pasta
Wearing my crochet ball necklace
Writing letters
Making more reusable sandwich bags
Loving creamy porridge in the mornings
Finding funny records..this is titled 'Touch me in the morning' :/
I also made a Rhubarb, coconut and almond loaf which is so yummy. I will share the recipe with you soon.
Hope you all had a great weekend. Tonight, hubby myself and friends are off to start our weekly badminton games. I bought a ancient wooden racket today for $1. I'm excited!

Taz
