Pinky creamy housey cake!

Pinky creamy housey cake!

A lovely friend of mine just bought her own house! Isn't that just a little bit exciting! We were invited round for dinner, and I thought, to celebrate, why not make a cake! A house cake to be exact! This was a delish cake and went down well with the whole new house theme! I found the recipe here. I looked up a cream cake as I had some seriously good cream that was hovering around its use by date.

Sweet Cream Cake..

2 eggs
1 cup rapadura or coconut sugar
1 2/3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup heavy cream (35% butterfat)
1 teaspoon vanilla

Beat eggs until thick and lemon coloured; gradually beat in sugar. Sift together the dry ingredients. Stir in sifted dry ingredients alternately with the cream and vanilla. Beat well.
Spread batter in a rectangle greased tin and bake at 180C for 20-25 min or until skewer comes out clean.

Once cooled, cut into house shapes. I went a bit overboard and made a dog kennel and picket fence but you can be a bit more simple.

Place on a pretty plate and get ready to ice.

I made two different icings. One chocolate and one pink with natural food colouring. Use your favourite icing recipes or just add icing sugar and butter till you like the flavour and consistency. Add cocoa or food colouring to your liking.

Ice your cake and serve!

Hope you've enjoyed this post!
